Mairin is an experienced supervisor of practitioners across a number of disciplines. She has skills and expertise in complex- level assessments of ADHD and autism, academic wellbeing, working therapeutically with groups and cultural responsiveness. Mairin has a high level of competence in acceptance and commitment therapy and developed and teaches a post-graduate course in brief ACT through the University of Canterbury. Mairin is a published author in the field of ADHD across the lifespan and is actively engaged with a number of current research projects as an adjunct research fellow with the University of Canterbury. Mairin’s supervision approach is grounded in acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused therapy and self-compassion. She interweaves neuroscientific elements and a thorough approach to evidenced-based tools. Mairin’s style of working with all clients is authentic, collaborative and focused on exploring the strengths and resources that each person already possesses. Reflective practice is a cornerstone of ‘what to expect’ when working with Mairin.
